Mobile Foodbank Appeal

In response to the increasing mobility needs of our community, Hive Hope have launched a new fundraising appeal. Our plan is to buy and fit out a large van that enables us to reach clients who struggle to attend our current foodbank.

Find out below how you can help.

"We are hoping to expand our service by running a mobile foodbank. The plan is to buy and fit out a large van so we can reach clients who might struggle to get to our current foodbank. Food would still be free but clients could choose what they need. We could park near schools, community centres and sheltered housing. Ideally we would be there alongside other services such as debt advice, support services or healthcare to offer a "one stop shop".

A suitable van will cost about £15,000 to buy and fit out. On top of that there's insurance, tax, servicing, fuel, stock, advertising ... which is why we have set a £20,000 target! This is still cheaper than renting a fixed premises and we hope will enable us to reach more people.

If you are able to donate this would be brilliant. If you can't but have ideas about possible stops to help us plan our route that would also be appreciated."

"Text HIVEHOPE 3 to 70085 to donate £3. Texts cost £3 plus one standard rate message and you’ll be opting in to hear more about our work and fundraising via telephone and SMS. If you’d like to give £3 but do not wish to receive marketing communications, text HIVEHOPENOINFO 3 to 70085 To give a different amount just change 3 to another number between 1 and 20."

What we do

For local people
in crisis.

We run a food bank which provides emergency food and toiletries for local people in crisis. We also take the time to listen to our clients and sign post them to other organisations that might be able to help them.

We are a Christian charity and do not judge those who need help but will do all we can to meet their immediate needs and work with them to find longer term solutions. We serve everyone, regardless of their beliefs.
